how to come up with a book idea

Book Proposals are a lot of things: they’re business plans, they’re resumes, they’re writing samples. Every word of the proposal carries weight.

And I know you want it to be just right so you can attract the most aligned agents and publishers.

Creating a great book proposal is more than following a template—it takes discussion, nurturing, guidance and expertise personal to what you dream of creating. Collaborating on it means it will get done right—faster. Not to mention that working as a team allows the best ideas to surface.

99% of my clients have day jobs, parenting life and responsibilities that have been pushing their book proposal creation to the back burner FOR YEARS.

I don’t want that for you. I want you to take action!

Imagine if you could:

  • Have absolute clarity on your book’s concept, mission and marketability
  • Confidently create a book proposal, guided by an industry veteran
  • Build a thriving and engaged platform that will grow your business by leaps and bounds
  • Align your book proposal and platform to attract the right agents and publishers while also creating an impact
  • Get feedback throughout the process so you aren’t left spinning your wheels

I’ll guide you through exactly what creates a book proposal that sells.

Over this 10-week experience, you’ll create in real time and receive ongoing feedback.

Knowing the right path before you begin will save you months—even years—of spinning your wheels and shelling out wasted dollars.

A great book idea is only the beginning! You need a thriving platform to help you get published, and a raving audience to promote your book to when it’s ready. We’ll talk about that too.

This process doesn’t need to be isolating—it can be collaborative and fun!

“I mean it with absolute certainty when I say that working with Richelle changed my life. Through her Book Proposal Blueprint program, I created a bang-up proposal that got the attention of my dream agents. That proposal went on to earn me meetings with major publishing houses and ultimately resulted in an amazing book deal for my first book. I would not be where I am today, as an author, without her expert support and guidance along the way. I've invested in many, many programs and BPB has had the biggest return on investment by far.”

how hard is it to publish a book

“I’ve signed up for a lot of group programs over the years, but the Book Proposal Blueprint made me take action more than almost any of them. While mindset coaching is beneficial, sometimes you just need someone to tell you how to do the damn thing. Richelle took me from a vague book idea that had been rolling around in my head to a finished book proposal in less than 3 months! If you have a book idea brewing inside you get in touch with Richelle—she’ll help nurture that idea and bring it to life!”

how to write a book pitch

“There are people with their feet on the ground–they create strategy and structure, define goals and achieve them–and then there are people who have the keys to unlock the cosmos. The kind who upon first meeting, spark something in you you’ve been waiting your whole life for someone to see. So rarely can an individual balance both these energies, let alone do so while bouncing their baby on their knee. Richelle Fredson is the strongest container you will ever meet.

“I was lucky to join Richelle’s first Book Proposal Blueprint Group where she gave us weekly live lessons and assignments—resulting in a group of people who have solidified their idea and voice, created their book proposals (including sample chapters), and even made new friends.

“If there is a book that wants to birth through you, if there is a story you have always needed to tell but you’re not sure how, if you are clear but need insight into the publishing world—then Richelle’s work is for you. She is the midwife, the doula, the sorcerer, the strategist. She is the rarest gem, who is generous to share her extraordinary gifts with the world.”
